Guest guest
Hi, Gang: Did anyone attend either of the two Suzanne Somers lectures this weekend here in Houston? I went to the one yesterday in The Woodlands--this huge ballroom was PACKED TO THE RAFTERS. Lucky me I got there early enough to sit close to the front. (Met some very nice ladies, including a lady whose thyroid was removed and is on $ynthroid.) She gave a great lecture, no notes, and even brought out her 70-yo husband Alan Hamel to demonstrate to the few men in the audience that it's for anyone. Her speech was excellent, funny, interesting, and wasn't the " you poor little people " kind of thing that a celebrity could do. She said that she felt it was better to do a grassroots kind of thing to go directly to people. Television is so all abou Big Pharma. Recently on Larry King she went up against a physician who declared that synthetics and BioID were exactly the same. She said, " no, they're not. " Then she asked him if he were paid by Wyeth, and he said, " no. " But of course, he was, and he's the president of the " North American Menopause Association, " a Wyeth thing. She'd googled him the night before and discovered that he really IS a minion of Wyeth. Suzanne was honest, explained herself, and when discussed the Seven Dwarves of Menopause, made a comment about a national celebrity who I won't name who needs them, and is definitely " All Dried Up. " The audience broke up. . .because this woman definitely looks " All Dried Up. " And she's a skinny little thing! I remember why I wanted to pursue getting better. I am SO not going to a nursing home. . . There are two Menopause Clinics in Houston, one in The Woodlands and one in Sugarland. Evaluations are $39, and of course hormones are more. I don't know much past that, but I'll find out and report here. They offered the opportunity to book an appointmment, so I did- -for Saturday, August 4th, at 11:00 am. No kidding--I chose a later appointment because a) the table for soon appointments was too crowded, and I'll see how my current physician works out, and if I need to just get Armour and Cortef from him, perhaps this clinic will help. And darnit, I don't know if they do thyroid, but I'll find out. The website, if anyone is interested, is www.replacehrt.com. And no, I don't work for them. . .just passing along info in case anyone is interested. I'd rather hear, " no thanks, " than, " why didn't you TELL ME???!!! " I had too much excitement this weekend, I couldn't sleep last night. Amy the Redhead
