Guest guest
Group- This just baffles me...my dad just 'quit' driving. Then he took the bus, and just 'quit' riding that as well. It is all so strange to me. Also my dad was a long time smoker - one day he 'quit'. All of these situations just stopped. No arguing, no further conversation - just stopped. I feel fortunate these things happened the way they did, no hassles or struggles, yet also, it is all so mind boggling. hmmmmm Sandie
Guest guest
My mother quit smoking after years of trying and not succeeding. Just like that. She states to everyone " I gave up driving. It was my choice and I could have still drove, but I decided not to. " It is so important that it was her that made the choice. Guest guest
Kathy- It is odd how our LO's just 'quit' certain tasks they were so used to. I guess what I am saying is my dad never talked about these things again. Almost as if they were a figment of 'my' imagination. Nothing was ever mentioned again about driving, smoking, or even his apartment when he was moved to a nursing home. Still baffles me. Guest guest
That is great when they can make those decisions. It is a very difficult decision for a caregiver when they resist.
