He is being more demanding and needy. I just want to find a corner to hide in for a while and cry til I cant cry anymore.! But it will have to wait, I have other issues that I must deal with now. After you are finished you may realize that life has taken care of itself, working out some of the issues that are facing you. Many answers are found within ourselves - go there. I have found, in my own life and chaos that life has a way of working itself out. Have had many big issues smack me in the face as well...right now though, can't remember the last time I have been this happy. Must admit, has most to do with that! Guest guest Posted April 9, 2004 Report Share Posted April 9, 2004 Ok, Here goes About 12 years ago my husband had his appendicts taken out. After that he started having trouble with his breathing. He was treated for asthma because it runs in his family and they thought the anisthetic (sp) activated the asthma. So for a few years things went ok, but he started having pnuemonia every year. Then about in1996 he became very ill. Had bright red spots on his hands and feet. His joints locked up. He could not even dress himself. So his family doctor sent him to a rhuemotolgist. She ran hundreds of blood test. She found out he had a rare blood disease called Wegeners Gramulatois and then during this time he went to a pulmonologist. He got the blood test from the other doctor and found out that he did not have asthma at all but another rare disease called Alpha 1 Antitrypsin Deficiency. It is a disease in the lungs that makes your lungs appear and act like you have emphysema. Because your liver does not produce the enzyme Alpha 1 to protect your lungs. The only treatment for the Wegeners was a chemotherapy drug and the only treatment for the lung disease was just being approved. So we had to wait until August to see if we could get on the list to get the treatment. So for two years he took the chemo drugs and we started the enzyme replacement treatment. Both of these diseases are fatal. Then about 3 years ago my oldest daughter was caught embezelling money. She is now in prison and has two children who are being cared for by her ex-husband. So we still get to see them, just not as often. Then 2 years ago my mother was diagnosed with LBD and we all know how that goes. My dad has heart trouble (had bypass 16 years ago) and he is 89. So now we deal with him since my mother has passed away. My oldest sister lost her husband in December and she has only one child who doesnt help her much, so I try to help her too. We are close Then in January my youngest daugher (this is the good news) graduated from Vet Tech School and moved to Texas to live. Her dream. So I am going through the empty nest. So in a nut shell that is my life. Please dont feel sorry for me. It is a full load but I have my family (for the most part). I'm just mighty impressed that you've held it together as well as you have in the circumstances you've been under. Kudos to you for being strong enough to hold your family, your parents and now your sister together for this long. How is your husband now? I know you mentioned waiting 2 years for this new therapy. Is he getting it now? Has it made a notable difference? Please let me know. I'm glad you are able to see your grandchildren in spite of your daughter's mistake. Is she going to be out anytime soon? I know you said she's served 2 years. Does she have much longer? Keep up the fight . He still works every day because he can't deal with not taking care of us financially. My daughter should get out sometime in the next 6mos. Not sure what will happen then. She will have a difficult road to travel. I hope she doesnt give in to temptation again. Your husband sounds like most men who take pride in supporting their family. It would probably hurt him more to stay home and feel sorry for himself. Better he feel he's contributing. I'm glad the therapy has slowed down the process of his lung deterioration. You do have your plate full . As many others have suggested, come here to vent, cry and scream. We're all very good listeners and already disposed to take your side and offer support. Don't feel you have to shoulder it all on your own without support. You have many friends here. He was nervous all week long and yesterday morning he kept saying he wasnt sure he could go. I told him h he didnt have to go. I told him however we should try if that is what he wanted. He of coursed cried very hard when we got there. They had set the head stone and that made him cry all the more. He said his date should be on there too. It was an emotional day for me too. I cried, I was happy, I was angry and I was lonely.But it was a gorgeous sunny day and the flowering trees were awesome. Something she always loved. Thank you again for being there. I am thanking God everyday for all of my new friends.
