I am sure your dad was aware of the celebration, even if he could not express it. I see you have your mom at home. Maybe she will get used to help out and babysit for your children and will come to stay more often. It is wonderful how everyone has congratulated you and your dad for your birthday. My mom is sitting with my kids as they play Sony PlayStation PacMan and my husband is barbecuing. Dinner will be a bit late but later tonight some friends will drop by for a quick drink. I spent the better part of the afternoon with my dad today. Sadly, it wasn't his best day but he had quite a few good days in the past week so I'm not going to let it get me down. He and I had cake and some non-alcoholic " champagne " and he smiled at me as if he really meant it. For me, that's tops!!!
