Guest guest
Hi Guys~~ Hope you're all enjoying your summer. Just was wondering if any of you have a child with a high strep count and have seen great improvements after the count was reduced. Thanks~~ Rose
Guest guest
Hi Rose, Ben's strep was 622 when we started the protocol. We're still in the process of dropping after a year and a half on the protocol--we're in the 330s right now. In our case, the ASO titer has been like a barometer which correlates with his behavior. The lower the ASO titer goes, the more the behavior improves and the better quality and quantity of speech we get. At one point in the process the titer started going up and simultaneously the behaviors worsened. When it started dropping again, things continued to improve. Incidentally, before the protocol, we had serious aggression issues, even on meds like risperdal and Geodon. Since working thru the protocol, he's improved to the point that he no longer needs those types of meds and aggressive incidents are increasingly rare. We're just blown away! HTH, Heidi StrepBacteria Hi Guys~~ Hope you're all enjoying your summer. Guest guest
We started with a titer of 777. After a year and a half on the protocol, it is about 580 or so. He never was aggressive, and I can't say that I see a change as it goes down, altho we have a long way to go.
