Re: HypoT and Diabetes Type II-Revised Comments

I need to revise my previous comments on this subject. I did not intend to imply that anyone should self-medicate, nor that any one protocol is right for everyone.

I find that my Diabetes II is very stress-reactive.

In addition to the usual protocols of diet, exercise, weight loss, and diabetic medication, I have found the custom protocol of sex and adrenal hormones that my doctor prescribes for me to be very helpful, both in tolerating the dose of thyroid hormone that I need and in controlling my blood glucose levels. What you may need is highly individual.

As is stated in the prescribing info for all thyroid meds, it is essential that any adrenal issues be addressed when prescribing thyroid meds. Most docs fail to do this. Both excessively high and low cortisol levels can be a problem for diabetics.

Adequate sleep and stress reduction are part of the overall plan for control of blood glucose. Christi Randall <randallc2004@ sbcglobal. net> wrote:

IF there is anyone on this board that is also a type II diabetic -this question is for you. Have you experienced your blood sugar going up after starting armour? My blood sugar has been well controlled - even down to cutting my meds to 1x a day - and since I have started on armour and iodoral my blood sugar seems to be going through the roof - and I have NOT changed my eating habits at all. So if anyone has experienced this - please let me know what you did to get your bs back under control. ThanksChristi
