Guest guest
For no-shows, we recently took Pam Wible's advice and went to a $50 no-show fee. The problem with a $25 no-show fee is that the patient just gets irritated, complains and starts looking around for another doctor. But when you raise it up to $50, the patients seem to view it more as a blessing than as an annoyance. For some reason, at a $50 no-show fee your patients suddenly seem to realize that your time actually is valuable, and that they want to do whatever they can to respect the time and attention that you make for them in your busy day. As a result of this higher no-show fee, the patients' self esteem seems to go up; they finally start putting their own health care as a first priority in their lives.
