Yes, the PA is still in the office I believe.

Yikes - no cortef!!! I am very allergic to mold!!!!!

The low bill was due to the fact that I paid for only one test. the others they gave me a lab slip to take to the lab on my insurance!

He is testing estrogen, testosterone, progesterone. He is going to do a separate test for adrenals. I didn't pay for it this time, but will!

I'll let ya know...he seems very good!

with fingers crossed

He usually does not prescribe Cortef. He typically uses compounded hydrocortisone.Kim Hanson wrote: Jan, I'm really allergic to airborne mold. I had one of those waterbeds that was like a regular mattress. For over a month I was waking up feeling like I was going to scratch my eyes out. I finally realized that the waterbed had slowly leaked and had caused mold to grow in the surrounding foam. Do you think I might have a problem with Cortef? Should I mention it to Dr R on Wednesday. I need to get my steno pad going with notes/questions to ask him. There are not very many docs who will let you do that. But it makes a certain amount of sense. You are the one who knows how you feel. Do I remember that you had some difficulty increasing your dose in the past? When you get your sex hormones optimized, it will be easier to increase your Armour. I would not try to do it

until you start on any sex hormones he may want you to take. Do you know which sex hormones he is testing? Tha is a very small bill for all of those tests. I had been on 240 mg of Armour plus 75 mcg of Lannett levothyroxine for about four years and unable to increase it without having repercussions in my blood glucose. After increasing my sex hormones (all of them) by 50%, I was able to increase to 300 mg of Armour plus 37.5 mcg of levothyroxine. The downside of compounded hydrocortisone is that you are dependent on the skill of the compounding pharmacist. I

had sub-potent hormones from two pharmacies, but have had no problem since Dr. R started sending his prescriptions to Womens International. The downside to Cortef is that it is grown on a mold and can drive you batty if you have a mold allergy. We have had exactly one bad report about Dr. M and lots of good ones. Is his PA/NP Debbi Winder still in that office? __________________________________________________

No. I did not think it was negative at all. The negative report came some time ago. I think it is a positive that he is letting you do a certain amount of self-adjustment of meds. maryebe wrote: Jan, I hope you aren't counting my message from last week as a badreport about Dr. M. I still see him, and I think my message may havecome across as negative when I did not intend it. Dr. M knows hisstuff, and he really listens to his patients. >> "Is this strange?" There are
