The reason I was prescribed Klonopin 0.5 mg twice a day as needed

was for extreme aggitation and anxiety brought on by high levels of

pain not controlled by the usual pain relief medications. WHen the

pain level climbs to a 9+ I become panicky. THe Klonopin reduces,

eliminates, or prevents this from happening. IT is quick working,

usually 30 minutes. It also allows me to not have to take

anti-depressants which have their own disappointing set of

side-effects I no longer want to live with.

The psychiatrist wanted to treat me for " depression " but I was

unresponsive. I kept telling him I wasn't depressed as I had lived

with this disease since childhood, but that I was extemely anxious

when high levels of pain occurred. He was skeptical at first, then

after several months of trying different medications, agreed that I

was absolutely right.

Now if I encounter a day with high levels of pain, I can take a

Klonopin and do not require higher doses of pain meds. The

Klonopin kills the anxiety.
