Guest guest
We did this too, with my oldest. I think the theory is sound, but I'm not sure it actually worked with her. She got fed up with it and wanted her pedals back on again, but she didn't learn how to ride until a year later. We didn't do this with the younger two, including my NLDer, but I think the theory is sound, and definitely worth a try. You just take the peddles off. The kids push themselves along on their feet, and use the break as necessary. They're supposed to get familiar with the balance of the bike doing this. They have to be able to touch the ground securely on both sides. >> Hi! >> >> I have a 7 yr old son (PDD) who has been trying to >> learn rollerskating for the past 2.5 yrs. Guest guest
Have you tried removing one training wheel at a time? Have them ride with just one training wheel, then as they get more accustomed to the balancing act, remove the other one. Heidi Re: Tips on teaching rollerskating We did this too, with my oldest. Guest guest
I don't know if this will help, but when my son was learning I literally got down near his feet and pushed them the way they should go. Have you tried someone showing him directly in front of him? Good Luck~~ Rose Re: Tips on teaching rollerskating Have you tried removing one training wheel at a time?
