Guest guest
I know of another boy, now age 18, who was a patient of Dr. G. (his report card is on the wall in one of the examining rooms), who is now doing very well on Strattera. He sees Dr. Larry Sher in Rolling Hills Estates, Ca for it as Dr. Sher was doing earlier trials with it. I plan on asking Dr. G. about it again today for my son, age 13. mary
Guest guest
Strattera is the new ADHD medication put out by Lilly. It is different than anything else being used, because it is a selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. Norepinephrine is one of the chemical neurotransmitters in the brain, and defects in this system have bee associated with ADHD. If you want to know more about Strattera, I recently wrote an article on in in my online journal, and the article is posted on my website. The address is http://addadhdadvances.com/Strggle.html. Guest guest
Hi Dr. Kane, Treating our sons ADHD symptoms has been very difficult for us. We have tried small doses of Ritilin and Adderal both resulting in CNS symptoms( facial tics, and rigid arms). We did try Strattera once but he didn't do well at the 10 mg. dose. ( is just 5 yrs. old and 35lbs.) Recently started seeing a new Doc who thinks it's worth another try , but suggested that we have the Straterra compounded and start at 2 mg.. First he wants to wean him off of Prozac. He seems much better everyday.( down to .025 a day). Another Doc(neurologist) thinks that the ADHD is just a component of his Hyperlexia dx. and that we should do nothing to treat it. His thoughts are that kids on the spectrum often have this problem and with proper education and discipline it workes itself out??? My personal feeling is that his ADHD is right now his biggest issue as it gets in the way of his everyday normal functioning. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Take care, Anagnostakos Re: Stratera Strattera is the new ADHD medication put out by Lilly. It is different than anything else being used, because it is a selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor.
