Guest guest Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 , I recently sprained my ankle jumping out of a U-Haul (like I was a spry 14 year old or something...great story huh?) and I feel your pain. I also worked in a training room and when Athletic Trainers cringe or freak out you know it is bad, so I wish you the best of luck at therapy, building those surrounding muscles up! and in general. Hang in there! I have been working hard for a month in Physical Therapy to try and avoid surgery. Well, I went back to the surgeon yesterday to see what she thinks. When she pulled up the Stress X Ray of my Right ankle she physically cringed and had to look away. Then she commented about how many xrays she looks at every day and how few of them give her that gut reaction and make her cringe. It was pretty ugly if I do say so myself. Anyway, she is giving me another month, at my request, to build muscle in Phys Therapy before she takes me to the operating room on October 19 to tighten the ligaments and try to give me some stability. She really has no idea what condition my loose ligaments are in until she gets in there. (How much destruction the stills has done to the connective tissue) I will have a three month recovery time. She is concerned about the staph infection I had last year (septic knee in yesterday's discussion of infections). I guess we will find out, huh? Well, I just wanted to let you all know what is going on. Thanks for listening. Stay Healthy Branson, MO __________________________________________________ Quote
