Guest guest
Is that the Carlson's brand? Omega's for autism/apraxia I am going to be starting my son back on "fish oils" and also vitamin E to see if I get any progress with his apraxia. (Got this tip from an apraxia children's board many of you may already be familiar with.) Yesterday, I ordered some natural liquid E and also some Nordic Naturals Omega 3,6,9.Today, a new member named Vivene posted a link to an omega oil called www.omega-cure. com. I've visited the site and it really has some great info. on it regarding use of omegas and even autism. It's a great site if you haven't seen it yet. (Product is expensive tho.) Thing is, I just ordered some Omega 3,6,9 but this omega-cure site talks about having too much Omega 6 in our diets and the need to have more Omega 3s on board to balance it out. What are you all giving to your kids as far as Omega oils go? What have your DAN dr.s recommended in so far as Omega 3 vs. 6 and 9? It's hard to know which oil is the right one. Also, how much are you giving? The omega-cure sight is recommending at least 3 tsp. per day for kids on the spectrum. Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! Mobile. Try it now. Guest guest
Only found this on their site. " Each capsule (700mg) contains 400 I.U.’s of d-alpha tocopherol, 300mg of d-gamma tocopherol and lesser amounts of d-delta and d-beta tocopherol. " --- Largey wrote: > It does sound good. Guest guest
D-alpha needs to be the predominant form of E in the supp. you use. I don't know how an IU compares to an mg. duh on my part. Guest guest
TID = three times per day. My husband interprets the info I gave him (from a doc and other parents) that we should start the omega at once per day, every day, then increase weekly until we get to three times per day. (ie. week one - 1 dose of the EFA/EPA mixture noted below, week two - add a second "serving" of that, week three - add the third "serving" of that.) Guest guest
Still a little confused on the dosage... to re-iterate Dawn's question - The recommended dosage is: Nordic Naturals Complete Omega 3,6,9 - 2 caps/day Nordic Naturals Complete Omega 3 - 1 cap/day So, do we start with this dosage (3 caps total) and then work up to this dosage 3x/day, meaning 9 capsules total?? Or do you mean to give divided doses (1 cap for the first week) and then work up to 3 caps total given in divided doses during the day (i.e. 3x/day at 1 cap each time)? Sorry to be laboring this point, but want to get the correct dosing. Thank you! > > > > > > I am new to the group, but I wanted to respond to this > > question. My son is 11 1/2.
