Guest guest Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 Hi Everyone! We are, actually, still alive! I am sorry that I haven’t written… (I know, not like me, right!) but things have been CRAZY around here. Now that it’s the holiday season it’s even worse! We have a lot of news….. good news is that Bob got his Long Term Disability from Penn. First time- Thank God- because I don’t think we would have managed very well if they denied him. He is almost totally disabled from that rotten hip… BUT- he had a surgery to close up his elbow wound last week and just yesterday he found out that he can have a new hip on December 29th. I feel like Santa just gave him a gift! I am so excited to see if getting rid of that pain will help him. I have a strong feeling that this could just possibly be the beginning of a BETTER time for him and for me and for US (his family). He is still having horrible sweats- soaking sweats with the teeniest bit of activity- he is supposed to be going to see a neurologist now for that- We’ll see how that goes….It’s s shame- I know he is very self conscious about it and I KNOW it must be uncomfortable to be wet and yucky all the time. Have I even mentioned how much I hate stills disease??? I was able to get a new job- still working at the Univ of Penn – still doing genetic research- and now working for a wonderful boss- that in itself was a huge HUGE relief for me. I got a nice raise and so now we won’t have the burden that we originally thought we would have with bob losing ½ of his pay. I am trying to point out these small but very positive things in our life to Bob to keep him feeling hopeful! He went through a SERIOUS bout of depression a few weeks ago and it was so hard to watch- I hate it- just hate it…. Well, will be 5 in a week and n will be 1 ALREADY in January… on the 5th. Time FLIES! Seems like yesterday we were in Las Vegas! I read your posts and I pray for all of you- every day. Thanks for being good people and for trying your best to make the most out of every day- even with this rotten Bah Humbug- Bug that you all have! It sure does try to ruin all happy things, huh! Go slow and enjoy the holiday- it seems rushed but I want to make the BEST of it and just be thankful that we have each other still- even with our 3rd spouse Stills being such an active member of our family! He can slow us down but he can’t stop us! Happy Holidays!!! Love, Theresa Quote
