Elyse Bruce

Musician, Disability Advocate, Midnight In Chicago Project

April 29, 2011 (borough, ON) – Elyse Bruce is a multi-talented woman — a

musician, composer, songwriter, performer, educator, disability advocate and

fundraiser for charitable causes who has taught marketing and song writing

courses at Trent University.

Through her role as an advocate for her son, Elyse Bruce is an expert on Autism

Spectrum Disorders. She posts audio podcasts on Autism Spectrum Disorders on her

websites at www.elysebruce.com and www.midnightinchicago.com.

Since 2006, Bruce has operated Midnight In Chicago, an international tourism and

cultural intiative that raises awareness and funding for invisible disabilities.

Her blog was read by over 34,000 people last year. Her " fifty Scares In Fifty

Weeks " venture involves a committment of international volunteers.

Bruce is very active in the community, including acting as French Liaison at

Market Hall, with Make-A-Wish fundraisers, being an inspirational speaker with

United Way, and mentoring developmentally delayed youth who are interested in

the arts.

NOTE: This is the fifth consecutive year Elyse Bruce has been nominated for the

Business Woman of the Year Award.
