Can somebody tell me how and who can

Shots can be a little intimidating at first, and the Baygam shot is not the

easiest one to start doing on your own, because it is a very " thick " liquid and

can be slow to draw and inject.

Do you have a friend or neighbor who is a nurse? When I started doing shots

on my son (initially kutapressin, now Baygam), my nurse friend came over and

showed me how and where the first time, then when we did the second one, she

came over and watched me do it just to be sure I understood. This worked out

really well for us and now the shots don't bother me or my son very much at all.

Another option would be to call a local lab. I don't know what they would

charge you, but they could probably have one of the technicians do it for you.

Some ideas,

Sharon

i was taught by dr g's office on how to give kutapressin shot (when it was

avail). afterwards, i did it myself. strange at first, but, you get used to it

especially when you see results. vicki

Its disrespectful of your doctor's office to snicker behind your back. Your

doctor should be thankful you are not getting on his back for ignoring your

child's ailments and watching your child go down the tubes prior to Doctor

Goldberg's intervention. Shame on your doctor's office for sending you on a

" wild nurse chase " to only tell you that you need written permission. We all

could write quite the book detailing the rude manner displayed by some

doctors and nurses out there. Don't take their garbage and hold your head

high. You are doing the responsible thing which is helping your child. Also

know that not all in the medical field are narrow-minded or act

unprofessional by being rude to patients in regard to Dr. G's treatment.

Just a suggestion, look around for a retired nurse to adminster the Baygam

shot. A retired nurse may have more time and flexibility with their

schedule. E-mail us privately and we can give you more details.

Thank you all for the advice. I will check around for the nurse who can

teach me how to do it and maybe watch over my shoulder the first time.
