Guest guest
We started the diet when Ammon was just over three years old and then with Dr. Goldberg when he was 4 years/3 months old. The only language he had was single words like " no " , " cookie " , " juice " , and a few character names from his favorite videos (i.e. Elmo, blue). He would scream or be disruptive if he wanted something until I could figure out what he needed. He would keep eye contact with me pretty well, but not usually someone else. During the special needs preschool he attended he would not stay in his chair for more than a few minutes at a time and would not participate in activities. He would sit on the potty but seldom use it. Ammon is now five and a half and very good natured and loving. He is calling people close to him by name and has good eye contact (when he wants to). He is speaking several words at a time to communicate he needs/share something. He can sing songs, knows the alphabet/identifies letters in words, counts to 50, and is learning new words almost daily. He doesn't scream when he wants something but we do get " terrible two-type " tantrums occasionally. He can stay on task/in his chair for up to 20 minutes at a time. Ammon acknowledges his peers and will parallel play. He has full-on played/shared with another child a few times, but it is usually without verbal communication on his part. Plus he's potty trained for #1 95% of the time. He knows to get a diaper to do his other business, but he has used the potty for that several times in the last half a year. I'm very pleased with his progress so far. - in AL Reality lies beyond the horizon... Wonderwegian

Guest guest
Just this week I posted on our progress after one year. Do a search on " Nids protocol at one year " or my username and you should find it. My son was 3 when we started the protocol and 4 now. --- In , " ashleyphilipnancylee " <K@j...> wrote: > HI. Guest guest
Kristy, Not sure about when Ammon will be able to quit all medications. (He is currently on anti-fungal, anti-viral, SSRI, IMGG, and allergy medications.) Depending on lab results (if HHV-6 levels are going down) Dr. G might cut back on the anti-viral soon. If all goes well, Dr. G. might trying stopping the antifungal this Spring. That's as far as I know for now. - Reality lies beyond the horizon...
