Love to if I had the $$$$$.....those DAN Drs and the testing are not

generally covered by our PPO or any HMOs and they can get mighty expensive.

I've been saving all week just to buy groceries, LOL- poor is out of

gf/cf foods, he had to eat beef jerky for breakfast today!!

I'd like to explore other treatment options, but for now they're just

not feasible money-wise.

i hear you sister! it's all quite expensive. i will pay out of pocket and

then send paid claim to my ins co (b/c ppo) and will probably be reimb for at

least 75%. i'm only doing this because it has been a few years since the last

major testing and i want to see if my darling is improving in other areas than

what dr g specifically tests for.

we too are gf/cf and yes, it is very expensive. i have to use my credit card

sometimes to buy groceries. take care.....vicki in l.a.

Vicki, (and everyone else)

What do you test for with them? The only " non- Dr. G " tests

we've really done that have come back abnormal were organic acids and hair

analysis. The hair analysis (2 different labs) read very high in aluminum,

and the organic acids (Great Plains and also Quest Labs) were very high in a

great number of compounds. This was all before we started w/ Dr. G. I'm

really curious to see if they've changed.

Has anyone else had organic acids testing ( or hair) done, then seen any

improvement after protocol? Or, does anyone understand what the

organic acids testing is a reflection of, specifically?? Dr. G., as always,

just says that as the immune system improves, the metabolic processes

reflected on the organic acids tests will normalize also. When we had the

organic acids run thru our local neurologist, he couldn't tell me why the

results were so off or what to do about it, just that they didn't point to

any specific " diagnosable " metabolic disorder in particular. Quest runs a

really comprehensive panel, and at least 50% of the organic acids were

really high.

PS Vicki.....what you said about your SSRI experience just worded perfectly

for me what ours has been going from Paxil to Celexa.....more creative

thinking but also more running, flapping, and waking up WAY too early!

the last time my son was tested (complete, comprehensive) was almost four years

ago. i just thought it was time to see where the levels are now. we have been

with dr g almost two years and gf/cf for about 2 1/2 yrs. although, with the

diet, my little one occasionally grabs his classmates crakers (forbidden food!)

i will not be surprised if the gut testing (organic acid) doesnt show much

improvement....vicki
