Guest guest
André, panículo adiposo refers to a fat layer, not just abdominal fat. Commonly it is subcutaneous fat, but when fat forms a palpable layer around organs, the term is also used Barbara Barbara , M.D. Business Development Manager Home: www.alba-lux.com Quality Assurance: http://www.alba-lux.com/quality-control.htm paniculo adiposo > English: panniculus adiposus; a layer of abdominal fat > Sp: el panículo adiposo > Portuguese: a panícula adiposa > French: la pannicule adipeux > Deutsch: der Panniculus adiposus > > André Fairchild, translator & interpreter > English, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch & French > Denver, Colorado USA > 1,180 online medical resources: > http://www.interfold.com/translator/medsites.htm > Multilingual medical dictionary: http://www.interfold.com/translator > > > URL: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/medical_translation > > In case of any problem with this list, you can reach the moderator at cgtradmed@..., or at cgtradmed@... > > To unsubscribe, please send an *empty* message to > medical_translation-UNSUBSCRIBE > >
Guest guest
André, " pannicule " means " petit panneau " ('little pannel " ), is of the masculine gender, not of the feminine one, thus it is " le " pannicule, and is located into the hypoderma (hypoderme), i.e. the layer underlying the deep dermis (derme), and made of adipous (fat) cells. Barabara is right, it's not only limited to the abdomen.
