Guest guest
Most elastomeric coatings used for EIFS application are formulated to have low water absorption, yet remain permeable for vapor transmission. As with most other retrofitting solutions of this type, material selection and the qualifications of the installers is important. Surface preparation is also critical for such applications. So making a blanket statement of whether elastomeric coatings are good for stucco may not be proper. As with almost every other construction material, including stucco and/or EIFS itself, a poor installation can ruin a perfectly good product. PS: These applications are also very sensitive to moisture for several days after application. Al Tibbs, CIAQT, CIEC, CIAQM C.L.I.
