Guest guest
I have no experience with it, I don't know a supplier here I would trust. I have read some say that goat's milk may be more likely to be tolerated, I'm assuming raw would be better than pasteurized, too. Seems like I also read a particular breed of cow makes the difference too, but I can't quote it. Something about how that casein has never been found to be a problem like the " normal " dairy cow, but I may be dreaming it up. Guest guest
Rebekah, Raw milk, both cow's and goat's milk can be tolerated very well by many children who would otherwise avoid dairy because it's the pasteurization of the milk that makes it unhealthful, not simply the presence of casein. The heat denatures the casein, changing its conformational shape, and turns it into a very harmful substance that negatively affects the brain. We have been using raw milk products (milk, cheese, butter, colostrum) in our house for over 15 years now and it is extremely beneficial. > Does anyone have experience with RAW milk and how it affects their > child that usually can't > tolerate casein. Guest guest
Debi, I beleive you are thinking of type A1 and A2 milk. Cow’s milk contains six major proteins. Four are casein proteins, the other two are whey proteins. Casein proteins make up about 80 percent of the protein in cow’s milk. The most common are beta-casein A1 and beta- casein A2. A1 is considered the " bad " milk, contributing to diabetes, schizophrenia and other health problems. Geurnsey cows, Jersey cows, goats and sheep produce mostly A2 milk. But again, if the milk is pasteurized, it doesn't matter which type it is. > I have no experience with it, I don't know a supplier here I would > trust. Guest guest
I actually just bought some goats milk at the health food store. I asked the owner about the dairy free cheese, and he didn't have any. I told him I was going to try taking my daughter off of dairy products because she doesn't sleep at night and it seems to be working for all my friends, so he suggested goats milk because it has nutrients like cows milk, and a lot of people tolerate it a lot better than cows milk... So I bought some, but so far I am the only one whose used it.... Guest guest
We still get raw dairy here, but I don't know if it will last legally. I hope so, there is a wonderful local farm I love very much. > Thanks ! > > I am going to go buy some now! > Isn't the butter the best stuff!
