It was very embarrassing, but I found that my wit got me through it. I go to BN almost weekly where I stop off and get a Starbucks drink before heading off to research the books. After ordering my drink I went over to the counter where the sugar, seasonings, etc. are. I picked up my usual packet of Splenda and shook the particles to one side of the packet. My order was then called and I grabbed my drink and headed back to the same counter. There was one other young lady waiting nearby for her drink. I proceeded to open the lid on my drink and then I spaced out. When I came back to my senses I realized I was pouring my Splenda into the open whole in the counter leading to the trash. My Latte, with lid removed sat nearby waiting. I couldn't believe what I caught myself doing. I looked around to see who was watching, and sure enough the one young lady was looking a me strangely.
