Guest guest
, I gained more weight with my second pregnancy and have hardly lost any of it. The only thing different from the first pregnancy is i'm eating WAPF foods. The only thing the same is i haven't totally given up some of my bad habits. People I know who are naturally thin say they gain weight on the WAPF diet until they figure out they need to eat less carbs to compensate for the extra dietary fat. For people with a history of weight problems, this is easier said than done. All that addiction and emotional history and lifelong bad habit in the way. I don't believe anyone in this country has gotten fat from eating lots of fat and protein. When I eat a high fat diet i feel great and hardly prone at all to my eating disorders. But there are times when i don't eat as well -- too busy, out, traveling -- and i slip and it's hard to make it all right again. One starchy, sugary thing can send me into a tailspin for days. You're probably like me. You *know* what to eat. Doing it is another thing. I recommend www.dietwatch.com. It's an online support group for weight loss with discussion boards and a 12 week program that looks at emotions and eating. It also has a food diary with nutritional analysis and lots of other goodies. Fees are like $4 a month. Elaine ps: And I know gluten-free folks struggling with the same thing. Guest guest
Yes, you're right, absolutely, Elaine, i know what to eat; it's the doing of it. i got off all sugar, white flour and alcohol for a few years and did much better. i did it on: www.radiantrecovery.com which is devoted to sugar addiction. and those things really are not a problem for me; i hardly ever have white flour, alcohol or sugar. and i don't eat fruit anymore either; i used to be very big into fruit but i've lost interest. with me it's all those yummy supposedly 'healthy' carbs; potads with the skin, sweet potads, whole grains (soaked, sprouted, fermented). THOSE are my problem. i also drink a lot of raw milk...maybe lactose is a problem??? i presume the lactose is atkins-unfriendly. if i could pay christie to move in with her for five years, to make it worth her while financially...i think that would be the only way, at this point. getting off sugar, alcoholand white flour took me YEARS on that web site; i kept trying til it finally 'took' using her step plan, which really works by the way. i was SEVERELY addicted. as many of us are. i'm afraid it might take me just as long for me and my body to finally 'get' atkins and stick to it. laura > , I gained more weight with my second pregnancy and have hardly lost > any of it. I found that all my cravings and obsession with food went away when I went on Atkins. What if that happened with you and you were agonizing over this for nothing?
