Guest guest
Hi everyone and a very Happy New Year to You all! Have got back home to the UK just 2 days ago-stgt back to work and the dull grey wet weather-but I cant stop smiling¬!!! People around me expect me to be jet lagged and miserable-but what do they know-I have been to the 82 batch reunion and it was AWESOME!!! Not only meeting old friends and feeling the warmth and sharing memories-but a bit also like coming home.I spent 9 yrs there-having done MD from Sewagram too-thats nearly a qtr of my life-and it felt as if it was yesterday -going back to the old rooms-hostel mess-ICH...Most has changed beyond imagination-mostly for the better-ICH has fancy canopies-the mess has professional catering and keep warm dongas-there is even a keepfit room and the fancy vehicles-2 and 4 wheelers galore make the place almost unrecognisable!!! What has not changed is the warmth-one does not recognise it until you go back-the teachers-esp Dr Kalantri & Dr Jajoo ,warden-Mrs Tikle and Ingley-the bais inthe hostel-even Gulabsing at the shop-they greet you with so much apnapan-specially for those of us who live abroadin a fairly cold culture-its grt! I was putting up at Arogyadham-and one evening just as we were getting dressed to go to dinner there was a knock at the door-and a greying gentleman stood there-it was Munjewar (for those who dont know him he was the ECG technician in the Med Dept-and had been very helpful in my thesis work)-I had missed him on my trip to the Dept and he came specially to see me-that did almost bring a tear to my eye. And my classmates-dazzling is the word-that is the least I can say-arre all the seedha saadha folks had turned into sparklers-quite unbelievable!!Most of us are 2 stone heavier but Poonam Varma has not put on a gram-wonder if organising a reunion is the best way to lose wt-she did a grand job and Bipin too-so they deserve a very special thank you.Shivkumar ,her hubby is a grt guy and Atul is very soon going to get quite sick of hearing about him and how supportive etcetc he has been.... We had this picnic to Bor Dam and on the bus back sang Antakshari just like the good old days -felt as if it was yesterday-only all the spouses and kids were there to prove us wrong. Spoke to guys from my class I had never exchanged a Hello with...as if they were long lost friends. My father had come with us-and he was the only parent there-my folks knew most of my classmates as my home in Bombay used to be a stopover for anyone visiting the city-and also the parcel system at the stn meant he was familiar with all the Bombayites too-and he was so happy-all my classmates remembered him and gave him so much regard-he was very touched and has expressed his heartfelt thanks! I dont have any photos to share as Rahul my 3 yr old took over my camera and there are some very interesting snapshots of bums and tums but not for the net... Could go on but have to goto work,Sufficient to say am putting of my face lift this year...feel so much younger already...Botox,take a bow. Thank You Sewagram 82 _________________________________________________________________ MSN Hotmail is evolving – check out the new Windows Live Mail http://ideas.live.com

Guest guest
i echo the same feelings though my association in terms of time was a little less. We got back thoroughly rejuvenated. Thanks to Poonam, Dr Shivkumar, Bipin and all the batchmates. It was wonderful. I am poor at mail writing but I thought one advise I can give " no- one should miss a batch reunion " Seema > > Hi everyone and a very Happy New Year to You all! > Have got back home to the UK just 2 days ago-stgt back to work and the > dull > grey wet weather-but I cant stop smiling¬!!! > People around me expect me to be jet lagged and miserable-but what do they > know-I have been to the 82 batch reunion and it was AWESOME!!! > Not only meeting old friends and feeling the warmth and sharing > memories-but > a bit also like coming home.I spent 9 yrs there-having done MD from > Sewagram > too-thats nearly a qtr of my life-and it felt as if it was yesterday > -going > back to the old rooms-hostel mess-ICH...Most has changed beyond > imagination-mostly for the better-ICH has fancy canopies-the mess has > professional catering and keep warm dongas-there is even a keepfit room > and > the fancy vehicles-2 and 4 wheelers galore make the place almost > unrecognisable!!! > What has not changed is the warmth-one does not recognise it until you go > back-the teachers-esp Dr Kalantri & Dr Jajoo ,warden-Mrs Tikle and > Ingley-the > bais inthe hostel-even Gulabsing at the shop-they greet you with so much > apnapan-specially for those of us who live abroadin a fairly cold > culture-its grt! > I was putting up at Arogyadham-and one evening just as we were getting > dressed to go to dinner there was a knock at the door-and a greying > gentleman stood there-it was Munjewar (for those who dont know him he was > the ECG technician in the Med Dept-and had been very helpful in my thesis > work)-I had missed him on my trip to the Dept and he came specially to see > me-that did almost bring a tear to my eye. > And my classmates-dazzling is the word-that is the least I can say-arre > all > the seedha saadha folks had turned into sparklers-quite unbelievable!!Most > of us are 2 stone heavier but Poonam Varma has not put on a gram-wonder if > organising a reunion is the best way to lose wt-she did a grand job and > Bipin too-so they deserve a very special thank you.Shivkumar ,her hubby is > a > grt guy and Atul is very soon going to get quite sick of hearing about him > and how supportive etcetc he has been.... > We had this picnic to Bor Dam and on the bus back sang Antakshari just > like > the good old days -felt as if it was yesterday-only all the spouses and > kids were there to prove us wrong. > Spoke to guys from my class I had never exchanged a Hello with...as if > they > were long lost friends. > My father had come with us-and he was the only parent there-my folks knew > most of my classmates as my home in Bombay used to be a stopover for > anyone > visiting the city-and also the parcel system at the stn meant he was > familiar with all the Bombayites too-and he was so happy-all my classmates > remembered him and gave him so much regard-he was very touched and has > expressed his heartfelt thanks! > I dont have any photos to share as Rahul my 3 yr old took over my camera > and > there are some very interesting snapshots of bums and tums but not for the > net... > Could go on but have to goto work,Sufficient to say am putting of my face > lift this year...feel so much younger already...Botox,take a bow. > Thank You Sewagram > 82 > > _________________________________________________________________ > MSN Hotmail is evolving – check out the new Windows Live Mail > http://ideas.live.com > > > > ------------------------------ > Website: www.mgims.org > ------------------------------ >
