hello jason,

thanks for the words of encouragement. anyone who posts a message concerning

permanent recovery from pssd must know that other group members here need more

definitive proof of recovery. please explain in detail: what drug caused pssd in

you? how long did you take it? did you wean off it? what were your specific

symptoms? when did you first feel like recovery was imminent? please be very

explicit. thanks

keving

> I am concerned for most of the people in this group making topics about how

PSSD is effective in them. I too suffered from PSSD about 3 months ago. I

recovered about 3-4 weeks ago. Don't worry, this is not permanent. I thought I

was screwed over from these drugs and was real irritable. PSSD doesn't last

forever and libido usually comes back within a few months. DO NOT take sexual

enhancer pills. Just wait it out, I took Milk Thistle for a while, exercised,

drank a lot of bottled water, ate Celery (yes, Celery works, it makes you more

attractive almost instantly when eaten), BELIEVED in my mind that I would

" recover " and just waited it out. Now its back and I'm back on another drug for

my Bi-Polar but the bottom line is do not worry about PSSD, it is not permanent.

You will not be dysfunctional forever; it is inevitable that you will get the

feelings back to normal within a few months. If you do not recover in a few

months after being off everything, exercising, drinking plenty of water, then

you may have something else that should be looked at by a doctor. Don't give in

and give up. Don't be weak. Be headstrong. And most of all believe in your mind

that you will recover.

Dude no problem, I took a lot of SSRI's and anti psychotic drugs as well as

Cogentin when I was taking Risperdal. I was basically unfunctional for like 4

years. I was taking different combinations of meds on and off and basically got

really irritable and frustrated that I couldnt get laid. The last combination of

meds I was on: Lexapro, Abilify, and Oxcarbozapine I weened off by myself slowly

and just felt it out; felt when I could stop taking the meds one by one. (I am

an expert on stopping and weening off meds, tried stopping cold turkey once- by

the way never do that unless you want to feel like youre dying) And got off and

after 3 months got it fully back. I was only like 16 when I started taking the

meds. I had just a lack of libido, lack of sexual interest, couldnt get Hard,

couldnt get interested in girls in the same way, felt different from all the

other guys because I couldnt have sex with girls, and so on. I couldnt orgasm,

and sometimes I could come on certain medications, but all in all I couldnt

orgasm and feel lusting and horny. It was about like 2 weeks ago when I first

felt really sexual again. I felt like the PSSD was slowly going away, if you

look at it in like weeks, that it was slowly deteriorating. Dont worry man,

youll be fine in no time. I think by just exercising, drinking lots of bottled

water (I recommend the Nestle bottled water, honestly it is the best in getting

rid of PSSD in my own experience, insanely good water), possibly taking Milk

Thistle, it can be avoided possibly, eating celery (Yes, it helps and helps

attract the girls too ;)--) and just believeing in yourself that you will get

over it. Dude I was in the same boat you were in about 3 weeks ago - dont worry

everyone will recover. And if they dont, then they must have some kind of other

thing going on like some sort of dysfunction that most people dont have. just

believe that itll get better: say to yourself, " I am recovering from pssd better

and better everyday " . once again, make sure to exercise, drink bottled water,

eat Celery, possibly take Milk Thistle although it may be avoided, and Believe

in yourself. Only you can change yourself, and the first step is believing.

Hey ,

I'm glad you've recovered. And thanks for posting. Success stories are in short

supply here and sorely needed. :-)

That said, I think you're painting with too broad a brush here. We all know that

some people recover - usually within the first weeks/months of discontinuing.

Others, though, have had PSSD for more than a decade. Obviously, there's

significant individual variability. The fact that you have recovered doesn't

mean that PSSD can't be permanent or at least very long-lasting in others.

It is not permanent. I understand your frustration. But believe and relax. Most of us refuse our situation which is in most cases pretty normal. who wants to be in this situation. But the key of healing is in the accepting. I have done that and started healing. I am fine now. I would say 90%. don't forget the follwoing

Check your vit. D

Omega-3 2-3 grams a day

Gooooood Diet

Exercise

Learn to relax (I understand easier said than done) If I did it you can do it.

Regards

I too believe you are painting too broad of a picture. You happen to be one of

the lucky ones. I am living proof that it can last for more than a few months

and can potentially become permanent. In my case I have given up hoping and

trying things to change my condition and instead moving towards trying to accept

it. One thing I know for sure is it can't be cured with bottled water and

celery. Oh my lord, give me a break!

Hmm in fact its hard to tell you even had PSSD. Sexual side effects during SSRI

are completelny normal and admitted by doctors and producers. Also the fact that

you need a few weeks, maybe few months to get back to normal after years of SSRI

treatment. PSSD is when months even year goes by and you have no sign of

recovery.

So let me get his straight, you had PSSD for four years, you were taking lexapro, abilify and oxcarbazepine recently and weaned off them, and after 3 months you suddenly healed. Had you been on drugs all this time, and only just got off them completely 3 months ago? Sorry, your post just wasn't very clear.I've heard the story that people get better quickly just after stopping the meds, but for some people it doesn't happen like that, ie for me four years ago was when I ceased all meds, but I still have all the complaints. Very happy to hear you've recovered, though, regardless of individual situations it means one important thing - that it's possible.Subject: Re: No more PSSD.....To: SSRIsex Received: Friday, 18 June, 2010, 5:04 AM

Milk Thistle might be a key to unravelling this mystery that is PSSD.

Perhaps some of the nasty remnants of prozac are still in the liver / system

somehow? Milk thistle might flush them out, explaining 's improvement.
