Hi,

Unfortunately in our case it probably will. My baby Leah 3 yrs old has severe

PMG. Her neuro states her life expectancy is probably seven to eight years.

He states that this disorder doesn't cause death directly but that usually

those that do with this disorder die due to aspiration pneumonia.

Just have to keep the faith and appreciate each day we have with them.

Elena, mom to Leah 3 yrs severe PMG, status post VNS placement, G-tube

dependent, spastic quadraplegia, 18 yrs and Emilio 12 yrs.

I few questions? Please help.

Can somebody tell me whether this condition effects a childs life span?

Also what is the best case scenario for my nephews quality of life and worst

case scenario?

I believe its based on the severity and the symptoms of PMG that determines

life expectancy.

I was told my son could live as long as I do.

His PMG and BPNH is moderate in severity and he has a slew of other

diagnosis.

Seizures and Hydro are at the top of our list of diagnosis that I worry

about.

just my opinion.
