I had 3 kids in 13 years (1986-1999), received 2 shots with each: one at 26 weeks gestation and one at birth, I believe, and one with each miscarriage. How toxic am I? The shelf life for Rhogam is 2 years, so theoretically, the current stock should not contain mercury. Per FDA, no other Rho(D) Immune Globulin products have contained thimerosal for several years. The symptoms of acute insomnia and anxiety I have been experiencing for years (among other symptoms) now make more sense. I was interested in the fact that Rhogam shots given to Rh negative mothers shortly after birth contain mercury. I have had two children and received shots after each birth. I had absolutely no symptoms after my first child, but quickly developed fibromyalgia after my daughter was born along with increased insomnia and other symptoms which have remained ever since, although the fibromyalgia is not severe. I do not recall experiencing post-partum depression of any notable degree and both children were fortunately normal. My main complaints are insomnia, anxiety and rapid, sometimes irregular heartbeat. I have been trying to figure out, of course, like everyone else, what the source of the mercury overload is. I did have two very small amalgam fillings installed in late childhood removed recently, but unfortunately that was prior to my knowledge that a definite dental protocol needed to be followed. I just wanted the damn things OUT, and this is a true example of " haste makes waste " and that ignorance is NOT bliss! I did begin to lose weight after that ill-advised procedure, and that was weight I could ill afford to lose. I live in Orange County, California and would like the name of a good biological dentist to see if my mouth is still a source of mercury. Anybody have any suggestions? Nicholes Graff@... Guest guest Posted September 16, 2005 Report Share Posted September 16, 2005 The birth center I've been getting prenatal care from wants me to have a Rhogam shot at 28 weeks, since I'm Rh negative. I've started researching the safety (since I'm not planning on vaccinating any of my children) and have found that there are a few brands that are mercury free. From what I can tell, the risk of problems drops from 1.5% to 0.5% if I take the shot. However, since I'm avoid amniocentesis and other procedures that would mix blood, some websites say I could get by without the shot during pregnancy and just get it after the birth, if the baby was Rh positive. I think the birth center will put up a fuss about that. Anybody have any info on the safety of Rhogam, with or without mercury in it? I just posed the question in here after talking to another mom of an AS child and she said she had the shot so I just wandered if anyone else here was also given the Rogam. I have had at least 16 of them over my lifetime and I have 2 ASD kids both boys and 1 had 2 vacs and bad reac and the other no vac but autistic. Is anything at all going on about this or is this the beginning just like 20 years ago was the beginning of this horrific battle to do vac's right.
