Hi Rowena.

As you have experienced, a FIR sauna is one of the best therapeutic

modalities around. Three years of researching sweating and FIR (and other

methods of body heating) for my sauna therapy book certainly helped convince

me. However, hearing first-hand accounts from others -- not to mention my

own experiences -- affirmed it for me in a way that research could not.

Recently a friend, who invented a unique FIR sauna called the Saunex, had a

visit from a customer with a brain tumor who bought a sauna cabinet from him

a year ago and now has a clean bill of health from her doctor. She did

change her diet and take supplements, but she used her sauna every day and

she is convinced that it was the sauna that healed her.

There are many reasons why FIR is so healing, apart from the sweating

factor. It's all in my book. But I just wanted to comment on your comment

" So far the FIR seems to have been the main factor (sweats the fat out?). "

The fat itself isn't sweated out -- it's metabolized by the body. But the

lipophilic (fat-loving) toxins that +reside+ in the fat DO get sweated

out. Toxic overload, as you probably know, is a major component in disease.

Best,
