Guest guest
I think your sweet potatoes must be a lot bigger than ours (in NZ). That amount of spice would kill a MZ kumera. About what weight would a med sweet potato be? (Cos I'm keen to try it out, sounds yum.) Kiwi deb sweet potato mousse this is a great dessert without using any sugar and it's mildly naturally sweet, and o' course, I (bigger capital) came up with it...(if similar recipes exists it's pure coincidence!) 1 medium size sweet potato 1 tbs ground cinnemon 1 tbs ground cardemom 1 tbs grated nutmeg 1 tbs grated ginger 1 tbs butter how ever much sour cream you like bake the sweet potato at 350 degree for about an hour or until baked through. peel the sweet potato (and eat the peel of course it's delicious). in a food processor, process the sweet potato, all of the spices and butter until smooth. when it cools to the point that it's only slightly warm, add the sour cream and process again. refrigerate till it chills thoroughly. dollop sour cream on top when serve. all of the measures of the spices are only eyeballed, so you should use the amount that you feel comfortable with. enjoy! bonny

The only difference is that I add egg and fresh cream rather than sour cream. Sometimes I will heat it back up and sometimes I won't. A teaspoon of cinnamon will ruin a yam for me.

So my recipe is not the same as hers in terms of proportions although the ingredients are similar. " Scholarship is essentially confirming your early paranoia through a deeper factual analysis. Guest guest
1 tablespoon of cardamom?!?!?!?!?! Yowzaas. You must mean teaspoons for all these, but even 1 teaspoon of cardamom will wipe out the cinnamon and stomp on the nutmeg after a good tussle. I mean, unless these are not freshly ground spices and have sat around long enough to become spicy sawdust. Sounds like a nice dessert for an occasional treat. I would try mixing in some pureed boiled seaweed to add more sweetness and nutrition.
