Weight Gain -Help!

Hi,

I'm new to the group and a recent convert to raw dairy & grass fed

meats(about 2 months). In addition, I have just about eliminated

caffeine and sugar from my diet and I am really packing on some

weight. I'm not a big bread eater either. I'm kinda discouraged.

I'd say I've gained at least 7 lbs. in the last 2 months. I'm

talking I can't fit in my clothes!

The only thing I'm not doing on a regular basis is walking. I got

off my routine (3-4 days weekly) when we got the hurricanes and I'm

struggling to get back on track.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Florida

It was (and is) my experience that when you switch to this kind of

diet, it is real easy to eat more than you need to. I have had to

stop thinking I must eat some of everything every day and be very

careful with portions. Also, I realized that I was eating too much

meat and dairy and not enough vegetables. Yes, the meat and dairy

is extremely important (and very tasty), but it really packs on the

pounds if you are not careful.

And of course, exercise is essential and very hard to find the time

for. I am still battling.

Thanks , for your input. I made myself get out & walk 1 hour at

a good pace this morning. I'll try watching the portions, focus more

on veggies and force myself out the door for some type of activity

more often. Hopefully this will get me back in my britches! LOL!

Try to get a balance of high volume, less concentrated foods (such as salads,

veggies, soups) and the more concentrated ones (meats, cheese, creams etc).

I lost about 35 lbs. over about 9 months time by doing this. I always eat

the less concentrated foods first and then eat my fill of the denser foods.

You may have to play with it a little to find the balance that works for you.

If you are interested, there is an interesting book called " Volumetrics " that

deals with exactly this principle. It can be applied to anyone's diet.

Exercise is important too, whatever form it takes.
