Even in 3cells versions many do use HF pulsing @ 5~10% duty cycle for increasing batt. life, & no need to have flyback like ckt. Just a narrow pulse HF sq. wave oscillator is enough. Single cell torches essentially have a mini flyback like ckt., which can drive 6 ~ 10 LEDs in series. tnq ========================================= ..
