Guest guest
Deb, I've found caprylic acid, derived from coconut oil to be quite helpful. I take Caprystatin, available from The Vitamin Shoppe. Of course, cutting down on sugar & carbs is critical. Plus, extra acidophilus. Guest guest
I am just curious, why would you wait til your minocin dose is lower to start the anti-fungal? Is there some problem with taking both at once? a C. > Thanks for responding. Great Smokies diagnosed a level 3+ infection > (on a scale of 0 - 4+). Guest guest
Not lower. I meant " down pat " , " set " . I'm just starting the Minocin and right now could not tell the difference between a herx from the Minocin versus a herx from the anti-fungals. Guest guest
Hi Deb, Most important, no sugar - yeast/candida feeds on sugar. Eight glasses of water a day, plenty of fresh vegetables. You need about 5 billion organisms of acidophilus/bifidus per day to keep your gut flora in the correct balance and prevent the yeast from multiplying to more than normal numbers. Herbals which are helpful include grapefruit seed extract, capryllic acid, olive leaf extract, lemon juice, garlic. Yes, many people on this list have fixed the yeast problem while on the antibiotics. Another reason that the intermittent dose is useful - the body gets a break from the antibiotics. Chris. Has anyone been able to get rid of a Candida infection while on the AP? I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thanks, Deb
Guest guest
Hey Holly, I didn't know you were on this list! Tina in (Hockley) TX From: Holly Whittemore Sent: Monday, November 01, 2004 8:48 AM Subject: Candida??? Hi There... I have a one year old daughter who has a dairy intolerance and possible gluten intolerance. Last week she had a broad expanding rash on one hip that was red and a bit scaly. A few days later, I notice she had thrush patches in her mouth! I took her to the pediatrician and was given nystatin cream and oral suspension to give to her. The large rash has been disappearing from off of the hip with the use of the nystatin cream. I used Gentian violet which has taken care of the thrush. My question is, should I be concerned about her immune system? She had no reason to have thrush, really. She has never been on antibiotics, and is still nursing. Would primal defense help? Thanks a bunch, Holly Whittemore
