Sure. I never used them until recently ... they do add nice flavor but

are not required.

I tried to get some wild shrimp a few days ago for my kimchi but was told

there was no *wild caught* shrimp available till January - it's all farmed.

The shrimping season here in Maine is winter time. I don't know about other

places, though...

Thanks everyone! I made some from Sandor 's book the other night and it smelled

wonderful...until I put the fish sauce in it!! I guess I still need

" permission " to experiment!!
