Guest guest
I would try ebay or amazon.com or www.sensoryuniversity.com which is a GA based company in Buford. There are ebay shops that make vests and weighted blankets as large as king-sized! They determine the wt. from the size of your child. You might also want to look into a neoprene vest (scuba materia) because that could be worn under things. W.
Guest guest
I recommend checking with an OT (Occupational therapist). If he goes to a public school, there is probably one you can speak to there. You're right, the weight of the vest itself is important, and I would definitely recommend an OT to fit him. You may have to call an IEP meeting to set this up...I am not sure. Perhaps someone else knows? Good luck! From: "cherylz@..." To: autism-georgia Sent: Monday, December 19, 2011 9:47 AM Subject: Weighted Vest My son could benefit from a weighted vest. He is 14, a high school student. Where can I get a weighted vest that is inconspicuous? The ones I found look like a life vest. Any suggestions on how much weight is effective for a 130 lb, 5'3" 14 year old? Thanks in advance, any suggestions would be appreciated. Cheryl cherylz@...
