The bloating is what happens when things don't digest

well. Personally I think that if you try something multiple

times and still don't like it, it's likely that your body

just doesn't like it for some reason. In which case it

won't do you any good.

I didn't digest fat well for a LONG time while my

digestion was healing. MCT was more digestible,

and is good if you just need calories (but it costs

even more than CO). Kimchi always helped me digest

fat ... wine too. You might need to experiment with

what you digest well.

I don't know the answer, but you could try just having a little bit to start

with. Yeah, I know exactly how difficult that is.

Are you sure the oil is the only thing that could be causing this?

Cheers,

Tas'.

addictive coconut oil candies

Ok, so I'm hooked on coconut oil candies! I thought

I'd never find a way to consume my CO!

So far, I'm not seeing any benefit. Quite the

opposite in fact. I don't appear able to digest the

fat very well, and it's making for unpleasantly smelly

and messy trips to the toilet. I'm also quite bloated

in the lower abdomen (interstingly, I am losing weight

around my back/chest, but my belly is growing, which

makes for an odd sight).

Is there anything I can do to improve my digestion of

the oil? Health aside, it's £££ down the pan for

every drop of undigested oil!

I often take pancreatin with my meal, and this helps

fat digestion, however, I don't particularly want to

eat the candies with my meal - I want them for

snacking between lunch and dinner, and I shouldn't

take more than 1 pancreatin per day.

Or, am I just overdoing the oil?

Thanks

Jo

That's what I figured too.

I eat stocks and kraut on a regular basis - at least 5

days per week. My lunch is either all raw incl kraut,

or has stock in it. Dinner has stock in it, but

usually not raw. And, dare I say it? Ok, in a very

quiet whispered voice (I don't like kimchi!!!) Please

don't think badly of me ;-)

I would have hoped to see some improvement in my

digestion by now, but it's not happening. I'm

concerned about becoming reliant on pancreatin - is

this likely to happen? I guess I should be trying HCl

at the same time.

Well, back to the drawing board....

Well, kraut IS kimchi, more or less! I don't think you

need both. But a lot of folks like kimchi with different

seasonings ... my dh likes it " dill style " ... tastes like

dill pickles.

Some folks DO have a damaged pancreas and never

get off supplements ... Dr. 's take is that

HCL just declines with age, but then he doesn't treat

with a GF diet either. Everyone I've talked to so

far seems to get off the supplements eventually.

You might try the Pascalite clay as an experiment.

I've been trying it when I travel, because I usually

get sick when I eat out, and somehow it seems

to work. You take like 1/2 tsp a day, and for

gluten intolerant folks it stops the reaction when

they eat gluten, which is kind of amazing (and one

of those things that my brain says should NOT

happen). I'm not sure if it absorbs nutrients

or not, so I'm not sure about it in general, but

in terms of symptomology it seems to help.
