Guest guest Posted March 12, 2006 Report Posted March 12, 2006 so it is normal to have rebound. Damn I hate that.........lol. I am so close to 170 right now and no matter what I do, I am not losing anything. I have cut down on carbs, I am excercising, and drinking tons of water. Dont know what else to do. I would be a happy camper with just a few pounds off. Its not the number thing- its the fact that im not comfy at this weight. I just feel like im still too heavy- even before those bitches from the other night..........lol. Jo- Give me some food advice. You are great at eating right and keeping trim. I think I need to do the atkins thing or something. Im going to try to get off the choclate and sweets. What about fast food? Isnt that ok since we dont absorb all of it?? I dont eat white flour but love to get taco bells tostadas. YUMMY! ============================== Geeze...I DON'T eat right! I HAVE rebound weight! It has just stabilized and has stayed the same for the last year. Making it Clear " I ain't no saint " ....Sugar, Sugar, Sugar and simple Carbs are the KEY to getting weight off and keeping it off. Eat all the Protein and Veggies you want. The darker the Veggie the better. Example...spinach and broccoli are better than potatoes and corn. (Potatoes and corn fall into a high glycemic index rating and are basically considered a simple carb..A yam is darker and has more fiber...therefore a more complex carb. Go for complex/high fiber carbs like broccoli, beans, lentils...) Eat 3 meals a day, 2 snacks (not chips and dip, something healthy, a handful of nuts, a string cheese, Cottage Cheese and tomatoes, a yogurt, Keep snacks small, simple, 100 calories or less) When you have your meals...eat until your full---THEN STOP. Don't Drink calories. Exercise. Be aware that although artificial sweeteners don't add calories...they will keep the " taste " and " desire " for sweets alive in you. Plus...when we taste the sweet from the artificial sweeteners our body reacts and prepares for the sugar it 'Thinks' we are going to get...so our body releases insulin. In the presence of insulin it is harder to lose weight...insulin is used to STORE fat. The lower we can keep our insulin response the better able we are to lose weight. This is why Sugar & Simple carbs that are high on the glycemic index (which means our body easily converts it to glucose..in other words SUGAR) is bad. But you knew all this already! Hugs Jo Quote

If you think you look good, leave it alone. I stopped at 220, 3 yrs out with no rebound. I guess I could lose more, But don't have the energy or drive to diet right now. I wear a 18. Now I know I'm not tiny, I do have a lot of skin to lose, and no amount of exercising is going to make my size 36W skin fit my size 18 body. If the lady grabbed your tummy and pulled it, likely you have enough loose skin to take off, if that is an issue. But, think about this....We've had this discussion numerous times....At a certain point with weight loss, people start to look gaunt and the person looks a whole lot older than they are. I know a RNY pt who is 10 yrs older than me and she looks at least 20 yrs older. Don't focus on anyone else, just you and wether you feel good and look good to hubby. At 170, You must think I'm a cow at 220? See what I mean? I'm Just happy I'm not 433lbs anymore. It's how you look at it. Look at Nichole Richie and that olsen girl. They think they look fine and I guess people tell them how wonderful they look....I think they look horrible. Like skeletons with stretched skin on their frames. There is always going to be someone who thinks thinner is better, but you can't worry about what they think, or your never going to be happy with yourself. Mel Quote

Guest guest Posted March 12, 2006 Report Posted March 12, 2006 Not the way Taco Bell makes them. You can tell because flour tortillas have fluffy air-hole areas in them and corn tortillas remain flat when deep fried. This last move was unplanned. woke up one day with a for sale sign and a 90 day notice that the house was for sale. We tried to see about buying it, but our credit sucks from my losses in 1999 and time was a big factor. Then the crazy bitch started harassing us about a mistake on the rent check( I wrote the check for the right amount in numbers but shorted 50 dollars in the written portion). She started saying by not paying the right amount we broke the lease and started giving 10 day notices. The constable said she was not doing stuff legally and started harassing us. we found this house as soon as possible. My thoughts is she already had it sold, and harassing us got us out faster because the first night we stayed at the new house, our few things left was moved to the basement and we returned to clean up the basement and there was a lock on the garage. The next day we went to check the mail, there were people moving in and the for sale sign was gone. The old neighbors told me that she had been in the psych ward several times(Now they tell me...LOL) All I know is, If I ever see her again, her ass is mine! I have a decent car and though possibly a road trip, but time is not good, I couldn't do all the driving and Tom is working nonstop at the minute trying to get things caught up and ahead. I just told Marta and Jim, I'd love to come. I wish I could talk my sister into saving for a revision! It would be perfect, insurance would reimburse travel costs to a point, and I could have a reason. But she's to stingy to do it. She could have done it with income tax this year, but she is one of these who uses tax refunds to catch up on everything she has let go in the last few months before Christmas..... She'd take a trip to Disney before she'd spend the money on something that is a reasonable thing like life. We are so different. Or maybe, I'm stingy, spending the money on me and not my family....
