Guest guest
My 12 year old ds has been having more melt downs/panic attacks and started harming himself (scratching to bleed on arms and digging into palm of hand w/other nails on other hand). Monday night he did all this and ran a way and was returned by police. He had not done that before. So, that was the final straw for us and we got into a doctor today and he is starting zoloft in the morning. I am freaking out over the side affects, the worst of which is " more suicidal " . Yikes! the reason we are putting him on meds is so he will stop harming himself and then I read this. Anyone have any insight on this, what to watch for if he is going that direction, or how common it is? We leave him alone in the house at times and have not had problems but now I am thinking we should never let him out of our sight. Am I just over reacting? Thanks for any input.............................Larkellen PS he has been w/an excellent therapist for a year and we have done dietary/vitamin stuff for the last year that did help tremendously but still lately it has gotten worse.
