Guest guest
Jaqueline Alvarez, Hi, my name is Burr Strader. I was diagnosed with JRA and Stills in 1986 when I was 12 years old. When we got my medical history from my pediatritian it showed that I was seen at leat 30 to 40 times a year for what they thought were sprained ankles, bruised hips, hiper extended knees and so on. After finally being diagnosed with the JRA and Stills we realized how far back my problems actually went. Since then I have had good days and bad days. Now when I say good days, It means I was able to actually walk and do things, Bad days basically are like right now while I am in a flare up and in a wheelchair. This flair up has lasted 2 years now gradually getting worse. I am new to this group, and have been blessed to find others that go through the same thing that I have been going through for so many years. And I still have a lot to learn. But as far as your question goes, for 32 years, I have not known a single day when I have not been in pain. After a while you get used to it and can tolerate it. But be careful then because once you get used to the pain and can tolerate it, you end up over extending yourself and getting hurt. Then the pain worsens. So yes there are those of us that have the pain every day and it never goes away. But we are still optomistic that a pain free day will come. I hope this helps. If there is anything I can do for you or any questions I can answer, feel free to ask. I am new to the membership here, but I have dealt with this disease for 32 years.
