Hello. I haven't posted in years. My son had severe OCD but found stability and

a normal if not joyful life with Lexapro, Seroquel, and regular CBT sessions. He

has been great for many years. He is now a senior in high school and the OCD is

back and it's very bad. I don't know if the medicine stopped working or what.

This summer the pdoc took him off of Lexapro and Seroquel and started

fluvoxamine. All of this was gradual. He had terrible side effects from all

sides- -withdrawals, interactions, etc. In October, the pdoc prescribed 5 mg

Abilify to augment the fluvoxamine. It worked great for about 5 days, then the

side effects started, mostly restless leg syndrome. He prescribed something else

for the restless leg syndrome that caused blurry vision. All the while no help

for the OCD. I know many of you have been through this. Did a blood plasma test

to see if the fluvoxamine was working and it wasn't. Almost no presence in his

blood. Stopped that and started fluoxetine. Just went from 40 to 50 mg

fluoxetine and 100 Seroquel. Had a week or so of functionality around Christmas

but in general he has stopped going out, stopped doing all of the sports and

activities that he did regualarly, missing most of school and won't fill out

college applications. Stays in bed alot, has lost alot of weight, won't talk

much. At this point, it's OCD and depression. He won't go to the therapist. We

are considering the facility in Wisconsin or the Houston OCD center. Does

anyone have any experience with either these, or the McClean facility in Boston

(long wait list) or the Edna Foa founded facility in Philadelphia? Thanks. I

remember Louis and everyone getting me through some tough times years ago.

A worried mom
