Guest guest
Bonnie My daughter was not on zoloft (so the side effects may be specific to that med), but what I do know and have often said is that our doctor told us it is imperative to start on a small dose & work up very slowly so their body/system can adjust to the drug. My dd was on generic form of Prozac. She never had any side effects at all. Again, don't know if the thought is different for different meds. LT In a message dated 10/21/2010 9:18:13 A.M. Also wondered if this was encountered every time a dose was increased? Guest guest
Austin was put on  a TCA ( I can't remember which one) when he had his body dismorphic thoughts, and it was horrible. He became very angry, irrational and almost killed himself. Then he was put on Zoloft and he started doing better immediately. He was a little hyper at times, but that was the only side effect. Of course now, it appears that it is no longer working after 1 year on it. It might just be that the dose has to be adjusted. If he's having side effects like anxiety and headaches, talk to your doctor. Subject: Initial admiistration of SSRI To: Date: Thursday, October 21, 2010, 9:18 AM  just started Zoloft about 2 1/2 wks ago. Guest guest
Thanks...there has been an ongoing debate about whether or not my son has a mood disorder and so givining him an SSRI at all is a little scary. However, he's having no symptoms at all of a manic response to the drug. I do intend on going very slowly with the zoloft. His therapist thinks that he'll be OK if he can get past the initial side effects...I'll see what the doc says next week. He said is is a little bit better today. I'm hoping that it will fade away. If not, I will call the doctor. Bonnie > > > > Subject: Initial admiistration of SSRI > To: > Date: Thursday, October 21, 2010, 9:18 AM > > > Â > > > > just started Zoloft about 2 1/2 wks ago.
