The ramification of the FDA's approach is huge! The principle attack against our campaign for nutrient dense natural food is that the concepts we advocate growing out of past research and our collective personal experiences, lack any objective scientific support. I can't count the number of times state governmental agencies have demanded that we provide objective, solid, published, up-to-date scientific proof of our statements. Then to have the FDA say that the use of such proof authorizes them to regulate our public claims, and subject natural food to their control based on the concept that natural quality foods are drugs (after all we say they are healthier than the processed junk available from agribusiness), is government gone over the edge. The critical point here is that HR 4282 is written to STOP the FDA from using this argument. I will send another letter to my Congressman urging SUPPORT of this right-thinking legislation.
