Guest guest
Bridgette, Dillon received a Panda Stroller at about 18 months. It enabled us to go more places/do more things as he was getting too big to carry a distance and regular strollers did not give him the support he needed. I do like the stroller all though I do think it is heavy and awkward to transport, it is hard for me to get it in and out of the back of our explorer. We also got a hi-lo feeding chair at the same time and I really like that. Hope I answered your question. Harriet
Guest guest
We got a Tiger stroller. We were not ready to put out 3 year old in a wheelchair. We were told by his pt that if we got a wheelchair first then we could not get a stroller later. Our son is on SSI. We love the stroller its large and heavy but he gets the support he needs. My son is more conforatable in this stroller and better supported than in a regular one you can buy at a regular store. He is able to attend preschool. He is also up at our level instead of being along the ground and knee height. Hope it helps, Marilyn mom to Jorden 3 PMG First Chair If your child is a non-walker, At what age did your child get their first wheelchair? Did you get a stroller first? Which did you prefer? Do you wish you would have received it at a younger age? What positive aspects did you notice when your child got his/her chair? Just doing some research for a few families. Bridget A. WV Yahoo! Guest guest
We recieved our first stroller for Max when he was almost three. We got a Kid Kart for him. It's easy to use and has lots of options. One thing I would tell the parents your researching this for is if their child is going to school and they want to use the chair at school to think about height options of the chair. We had got the 2nd size option and it has Max at our hip/waist level. In hind sight I would have gotten the smaller size which would have had him at eye level with other 3, 4, and 5 year olds. The school did get him another chair for when he's at school but it's not nearly as good as the Kid Kart and doesn't have the best support. Just something I wish I would've realized earlier.
