Guest guest
Ive had PSSD before and found while it destroyed my libido and made it harder to get erections, Viagra was able to restore me to a fairly normal sex life and I was able to enjoy sex, albeit once a night rather than the expected sexual marathons of a guy my age. Around six months ago I took reboxetine. Only for around a week. But early on I experienced extremely painful ejaculation and a general itchiness around my genital area. My penis felt raw to touch and i got half erections instead of full erections and they felt kinda weird. I also noticed symptoms such as urinary retention, loss of control over my bladder and a weird swelling in my testicles. Weirdly i also sometimes got semi erections with no apparent sexual stimulation which i did not even feel. ALL of these symptoms have persisted at least six months after discontinuation. PSSD never really got in the way of sex. But now sex is actually painful! Ive tried Viagra and that does not work, where it worked fine when i just had PSSD. If anything it makes it worse as i get very very blue balls and a semi erection which comes and goes. Im at a loss and my doctor says that he's never heard of reboxetine being associated with sexual dysfunction and in any case cannot believe the symptoms would persist. Guest guest
I've done some research on reboxetine(and strattera which is a kissing cousin) and I have found that these drugs affect the prostrate which explains symptoms such as painful ejaculation, stream of urination not so strong, dribbling and other weird and wonderful side effects. Either it is prostatitis or an enlarged prostrate or both. The difficulty is knowing what to do next. Enlarged prostate is usually treated by flomax and other alpha antagonists which ironically have erectile dysfunction as a side effect and relieve symptoms but do not cure. Prostatitis is usually caused by bacterial infection so is treated with antibiotics and when i presented the symptoms to the doctor he did prescribe a course of antibiotics. Naturally because my symptoms are due to the drug, not bacteria, they were of no help. Not sure what to try next.
