Guest guest Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 I am new to the asthma world. Apparently, as a very small newborn, my parents were told I had asthma and so, 40+ years ago, we all moved north. However, a year ago I was bitten by a brown recluse spider and all these things have since taken over my life! I am now an uncontrolled asthmatic. Just when I think we have that trigger under control, along comes another. I was told that an over 40 dx is not uncommon, but... not only do the medical staff everywhere I go have no concreit answers as to why it is not controlled, I have allergies and GERD. So, is there any help for me? Except waking up every morning wondering if I am going to be able to breath today? Yesterday, my 4th day at a brand new job, I felt like I was being choked. Within mins, I was wheezing and had to be sent home after an hour of being on display for all my new co-workers to see while I struggled to breath. I was very close to passing out, because I remember seeing their lips moving, but I do not know what they were saying to me. That scares me and now I am labeled at my new job. It is not embarrassing, but it is not the way I wanted to begin my employment. Quote
