Trish,

My older son, Cameron, has pooping issues. He is on Miralax as well

as Mineral Oil and Milk of Magnesia. What we do is give him about 1

teaspoon of mineral oil each morning mixed with his orange juice

(formula for Owen). Then in the afternoon I give him about half a

cap of Miralax (never really measured it, just told to do about half

of the dosing line on the cap). Periodically we also give milk of

magnesia twice a day if he is really constipated. This usually helps

him, though he does still constipate himself occassionally (he likes

to hold it in). However, it is always soft when he does go.

Sometimes Braden (12 months) gets constipated as well. For him I give

some prune juice. His bm's also tend to be very dry, like little

bunny turds. I have been told that this is fine, it just means that

he isn't hydrated enough. But, as long as it doesn't cause him pain

when he goes, he is okay.

Have you tried some anal stimulation as well? There are times when

we take a rectal temp as that seems to help get things moving.

If you still have problems, I would go back to your pediatrician.

Mine said that if Cameron still is constipated even on all the

laxatives that there may be a medical reason, and he would do some

testing to make sure there weren't any obstructions. Just a thought.

Hope things improve soon,

My son also has constipation issues and was on Miralax for a few

months. I loved it and it worked like a charm (we used a half capful

daily), but the pediatric GI Dr. said it was habit forming and she

was afraid his bowels would lose more tone. She switched him to

Kristalose, which she says is non-habit forming. It took a little

playing around with the dose, since at first a whole packet (10gms)

was too much, and he had major diarrhea. We gave him half a packet

and then as he got used to it and he started to show signs of

constipation again we gradually increased it to 1 packet daily. He'll

be 3 in August and has been on it for close to a year now. Per the GI

Dr, we are going to try weaning him off of it and just adding

benefiber to his food after his next appt. Good luck. I'll bet you'll

have a much happier baby on your hands when you get the constipation

thing taken care of. I know is, he sleeps better, eats better

etc etc etc.

1) He has sent the blank email, I would guess if your statement is

correct that their is no active owner or moderator this is why he is

not being unsubscribed.

2) As for the name calling in your email, he is not playing dumb,

lying or being lazy. We have tryed what has been suggested and it is

not working. And it has resulted in increased frustraion, not to

mention SEVERAL off list emails from group members of the same tone

as yours and worse that my father does not need.

I hope that someone else here can assist me without trying to

belittle anyone.

As for reading the terms of the Yahoo Service agreement as has been

suggested, well yes I have read it word for word. And I am now going

to excercise those terms on my own behalf.

Is he responding to the confirmation he got after he sent the blank email?

Mods/Owners have NOTHING to do with it.. It's all automated through

Yahoogroups. If he doesn't respond to the confirmation that's sent after the

blank email, his unsub request won't be completed.

Your father acted extremely rudely and threatened the group. He shouldn't be

surprised that he's pissed off everyone. If he's too stupid to figure out

how to unsub, set his hotmail account to block email from the group. Or

since hotmail is little more than a throwaway service anyway, just set up a

new address with them.

I never mentioned the Yahoo terms of service so I have no idea what you are

talking about..

You and your father have been told over and over and over and over again

what to do. There is nothing else that we can say, so threatening us and

complaining won't do any good.

As far as I know if you go to the top of the yahoo news grops page,

not the email but the newsgroup its self, you can click on " edit

membership " . This will give you the option to leave the group. Try

that.

These aren't newsgroups, they are mailing lists. There is a big difference.

It's interesting that you compare PSSD to prostatitis. Indeed, to me, it feels like my own dysfunction is centered on the prostate. After I started taking Celexa again, after about a week, I felt a strange itch/tingling that semed to radiate from my prostate, through my urethra, and then sort of center on the head of my penis. That sensation went away after about a week, but now there is numbness where the tingling was, and the head of my penis actually hurts sometimes. I wonder if it wasn't the nerves being damaged that I felt. Once there is nerve damage, what can be done? Perhaps acupuncture could help, as has been suggested already.

in my case, paxil gave me sexual dysfunction while on

it, i came off it and was fine for years--i got

permanent sexual dysfunction after i went on Ultracet

for a couple years--it diminished slowly at first, but

got worse after a couple of years on the med. Not on

any SSRI's or ultracet anymore, still have permanent

dysfunction.

It seems that your symptoms are similar to my own. I also have prostate pain that comes and goes. I tried zinc, but it caused swelling in my hands, arms, feet, and face, and I had to stop after a few days. I didn't have time to see if it worked.

that is strange what type of zinc where you on and what amount? maybe

you could try another type, zinc is essential for proper reproductive

health.

you could try a hair mineral analysis to see if you need zinc.

p.s. i dint have any pains or tingling until i started to take zinc.

It just says Natural Zinc on the Bottle. I took fifty milligrams a day, and by the second day, I had the swelling. Granted, I did not have the test that you spoke of. Perhaps a zinc deficiency is not my problem. I think that you suggested zinc in the group, and I just thought to give it a try, without first seing whether or not I have a deficiency

well that is a quite high amount to start on you could try a

different type of zinc at a lower dose, the fact that you did have

that kind of reaction to zinc possibly means you where deficient.

try taking it with a multi mineral complex and add extra zinc as you

go.

also you could get a prostate supplement with all the things i

mentioned earlier.

you could add extra glutamic acid glycine, alanine.

also p5p supplement its the qo enzyme form of b6, its the best. your

liver doesnt have to convert it into this as it would if you took to

water soluble kind, this would insure that your body is doing what it

should be with the amino acids.

Subject: questionTo: IBCLC2B , Date: Friday, July 8, 2011, 10:32 AM

Hi Ladies,

I have another question for ya all!!! I have a client that stopped nursing almost seven months ago, (she nursed for about 1- 2 months) and is still lactating! Her OB/GYN did a MRI, no results yet....Is this normal? The amount varies, she said sometimes it goes through her bra and shirt, but she always wears a nursing pad. She also said that her right breast still gets blocked on ocassion and she massages it out.....what should I tell her?

Thanks

Nanci RN, IBCLC
