Guest guest
Don't panic! Asthma is manageable, and allergies can be worked around. Since you know your son has allergies, you might consider having allergy tests done. They're not 100%, but they can help set you on the right track. In the meanwhile, avoiding house dust sounds like a good idea. An awful lot of asthmatics are allergic to it. Old house dust, by the way, is worse than newer dust: it contains a lot more dust mites, or something. Allergies are basically idiosyncratic, though. You can figure them out from tests and/or paying attention and trying to puzzle out connections. Unfortunately the connection is not always immediate. I get sick if I eat peanuts, but there's a 6-12 hour lag. All the best! > > Hi how are you my name is Lola my son on just got diagnosed with > asthma. Guest guest
Another few tips: If you have pets, do not let them in the bed room at all. Second: if he has stuffed animals, put them in the freezer for about an hour each week. This will kill dust mites. You could wash them in hot water each week but that greatly reduces the life of the stuffed animal. Third, vacuum all carpets on a frequent and regular basis. I hope this helps. > > > > Hi how are you my name is Lola my son on just got diagnosed > with > > asthma. Guest guest
By careful while you're digging out your ragweed and goldenrod: you're likely to be pretty thoroughly exposed the day you do that job. Or persuade someone else to do it. I also recommend pulling ragweed out in the spring before it has a chance to bloom. > > And all I want to do is chop down the ragweed and goldenrod on the land just > so I don't get sick. > I can't remember what comes out in June but I need to just til all the land > up so I don't have to be sick. > > Somedays I wish I did live in a bubble and not have to worry about anything > around me just so I can feel like what it means to be " normal " > Found out that is what my dd is trying to do, she wants to be normal so she > won't tell the teacher she needs help. > > > > > Allergies are basically idiosyncratic, though.
