Coconut Oil

I don't know anything about Coconut oil and decided that it was past

time that I found out about it. I do know that many people 'swear' by it.

Hense this article, particularly for those like me that are totally unfamiliar

with it.

This site does sell the coconut oil: but found info there that was

of interest. The books here all have a Table of Contents giving one an idea

what is in them.

I would truly appreciate feedback on this oil from those of you that

have tried it please???

This site discusses the different types of coconut oil and the methods used

to produce them as well as the health benefits of coconut oil in the diet. It

also addresses some of the misconceptions about coconut oil. You will find

sources, recipes and information about coconut oil as well as other

health-related

links.  This web site is the result of my own search, first of all for

coconut oil and subsequently for information about coconut oil. I learned that

coconut oil is not only a good alternative to other fats and oils for cooking

and

baking (the object of my original search) but is arguably the best oil of all

from a health standpoint (see note at bottom of this page). Hopefully the

information available here will help correct some of the many misconceptions

about

the effects of coconut oil on health as well as cut through some of the hype

which has now appeared in the marketing materials of companies selling coconut

oil.

In my workshop Holistic Practices in Lactation, I teach the use of coconut oil

for many, many purposes and it is also something I am discussing in-depth in my

book. I have been using it for about 10 years in my practice. I will be in the

States next week teaching and can pull some of the material together for a

handout if y'all can wait until I am back here at the end of the month.

,A handout would be really helpful, especially with your name and credentials.  I can do my own thing with my individual practice, but I also work for WIC and they have to have all info backed up in writing.
