respond to you anxiety about the sexual liason. It is more difficult

for a man to contract HIV from a woman than the other way around. If

the liason was pretty " the ordinary stuff " chances are you are

fine..this time. Do go in for your HIV test; however, it's highly

doubtful that you have it. Anxiety also causes muscle aches.

On the positive side of things, you can use this situation to bring

good to your life Jon. Think about it, what better time to practice

positive thinking and affirmations than now? I suggest that you go

buy Louise Hay's I Can Do IT book and spend the next month affirming

like crazy. Allow the affirmations to give you peace. Also, it

sounds to me like you've learned a very important lesson about safe

sex through this ordeal. This lesson may very well SAVE your life

one day!

As for the social anxiety, I would suggest seeing a psychiatrist or

family doctor for medication. I've known many people who have gone

on Paxil for social anxiety and it's made a world of difference in

their lives.

Rest in the knowledge that the odds are with you that you came

through this one unscathed. : )

Blessings to you.

Hi Dawn...

Thanks for the kind words. I know, everyone tells me the same that

its much harder for a man to get hiv from a woman then the other way

around. I did use protection but we also fooled around a bit orally

before hand.

Never the less, the element of doubt is there and won't go away. I'm

learning my lesson the hard way and " hopfully " I'll get a second

chance to think before I act again! You know, its funny how the mind

works. Ask me anytime before this event if I would have ever slept

with this girl and I would have said no way! But something got in my

head that night and I did.

Like I said before I gotta take the good from the bad. This really

opened my eyes to my other problems and how to solve them so I get

better. I've been living with them for a few years now and its time

to get the help I need.

Thanks again,

Jon

Jon-

I apologize - I didn't read your original post, but I did see your

apprehension about Paxil. I have a friend whose son was on it and he began

doing bizarre behavior including lighting fires and vandalizing her car.

When she took him off it, he stopped these behaviors.

Have you thought about looking into natural alternatives for anxiety? I

took L-Glutamine in college for depression, but I know there are others out

there. I would suggest joining an alternative medicine newsgroup and

requesting information. I subscribe to

Take care,

- :-)

I hear what you are saying Jon. Having used protection, the chances

are incredibly slim that you got HIV even if she did have it.

Additionally, HIV is rarely spread via oral " situations. " I hope

this at least gives you some peace before your test results come

back.

I agree that you are learning a little about yourself through this

experience.

I'm not sure if you have it already, but if not, you may want to get

the book by Louise Hay " I Can Do It: How to use affirmations to

change your life. " The book comes with a CD and is absolutely

excellent.

Blessings to you.
