Guest guest
hi ken i SO know where you re coming from!!!!! i was having flashbacks when i read your letter. it's hard to believe sometimes so many things can go so wrong at once.a chain reaction. i think my biggest disappointment was when my so called friends abandoned me in my greatest time of need. guess they got sick of hearing about my woes.not as sick as i was of myself! i lost it all too. my business, car home etc. slowly but surely. as far as the irs went, i wrote some letters to various people, and surprisingly, they were VERY kind to me. i too was pushed around and humiliated by doctors. i couldn't agree with you more. if they can't fix you, they can't be bothered, AND I LIVE IN 'THE CITY OF MEDICINE " ...oh brother. after 23 doctors, i was pushed right into the hands of the specialist i REALLY needed. i've been with him for 4 years. he , himself can not believe what his patients must go through with ssd, worker's comp. camera's, bullying, callous doctors, on and on. it took a long time, but i realise i am very fortunate to have found a compassionate doctor, who is a human being first. my therapist too has been with me all the way. thank God for her as well. the rsd/crps has taken its toll on my family and their wallets as well. i still try day to day , not to allow myself to let my thoughts stray. it is a constant battle to find peace. i wish i could say i knew the secret, but i only know there are few choices except to keep hanging in there. i'm sure my inability to work plays a huge role in my distress, but thats an ongoing search. i wish you well and KNOW that things will get better for you. you WILL find a doc, and once your feeling better, you'll get some fight in you and get some of your other issues resolved. seems you have to do everyone else's jobs these days. get all promises from the irs, ssd, etc. on paper!!! i'm sure you already have experienced resolving something on the phone only to have the problem arise again! surprisingly, my senator did alot for me. i wrote him on a few different issues and he acted strong, compassionate, and swiftly. when i was getting pushed around and ignored at the hosp. by some " very busy " residents(for a crucial but unrelated surgery) i was told by my regular doc's nurse, to contact " patient relations " ....it worked like a charm, and i was not black balled! also, once i became eligible for medicaid and medicare, things went much easier than with my previous insurance co. the poorer i got the more options i had.(crazy) ok,i've said enough! hope my experiences may help just a little. welcome and good luck. lynnzee
