Guest guest
Hello Renato and welcome to the group. It's very nice to have you with us. Wishing you a peaceful day! Hugs Live Long....Laugh Hard....Email Often Hello everyone. My name is Renato and I am a new member. I joined this groupbecause I have an understanding that affirmations do work. I have tried to create some simple affirmations and get frustrated of nothing happening. I have analyzed my predicament and feel that I am just not giving the affirmation the length of time it requires to atleast make any kind of a change. Two requests: a) Those of you experienced in affirmations; will you give me some encouragement that this process does work? I write my affirmations in the present moment. I write it in only positive terms. I try to contact the feeling in my heart that yearns for the desire and use that as the theme and basis ofmy affirmation. If and when an affirmations takes hold does it also affect other parts of me for the better? Is it a rippling effect on my Presence? These two things I am hopeful of. Thanking you in advance, Renato

Guest guest
Saturday, September 11, 2004 (7:13 AM) Daily Quado: A reader asks: Sometime back I decided that I needed to make major changes in my life. Quado said to visualize the life you want to lead, seeing yourself successful. I have been trying to do that, but I have no idea of what I want my life to be like; I only know that I don't want to continue as I am. I'm 54 and have been raising children for 39 years. I have no skills to fall back on and no finances to make changes with. Anytime I ask for guidance I get the feeling to be patient and all will come to me, but is this just my fear speaking, so that I don't have to do anything? A note from : The Quado Abundance Meditation is a wonderful tool for opening yourself up to the bountiful flow of the universe and will work well with what Quado suggests below. Go to http://www.quado.com/abundance_meditation.htm to hear samples and order. You might use it in conjunction with the Self-Love Meditation to build up your confidence and face down your fears, as does this Quado reader: " I am most grateful to you and Quado for the beautiful and inspiring meditations. I just found a wonderful way to start and end my day by listening to the Abundance and Self-Love meditation CDs. " Grace Quado responds: If you are feeling stuck, if you are doing nothing to change your situation in spite of your dissatisfaction with it, then yes, this is your fear driving you. And if you are sending out nothing but negative signals, telling the world that you don't like the way things are but presenting it with no vision of what you would like, then you are again inviting only fear to respond. For fear will paint a picture for you, a picture which revolves around safety and repetition, doing only what you already have done, staying in a world which is familiar to you, even if undesirable. Yes, it does take courage to step out and remake your life. It requires courage and it requires action, and thinking that visualization alone will resolve this for you is not valid. The strongest energy signal that you can give the universe, the strongest sign that you are ready for her to deliver up her gifts, is readiness and action. Ah, you say you have no money. Or in another case, you have no time. The absence of time and money are just challenges the universe is more than happy to accept on your behalf. But you have to partner with her. You have to be willing to get up an hour earlier to make the time for what is important to you. You have to keep an eye open for special bargains and deals and free offers which come your way and then have the courage to act upon them, in order to overcome money shortages. But she will take up these challenges for you. In fact, the universe loves a challenge. And so, I would propose to you that if you feel you cannot act because you do not have time or money, that these are excuses that fear has thrown out before you and that they are surmountable. Many, many teachers will make their services available at a low cost, and many skills can be learned very inexpensively. Do not allow yourself to hide behind these excuses. And as for a lack of skills, this is certainly correctable. But only with action on your part. Action and discipline and yes, courage. For when you decide to learn new skills, you will need to allow yourself to look very foolish at the beginning. You will need to allow yourself to make mistakes, to do things poorly while you learn. You will need to spend time and effort learning something, then moving into perfection of the skill only to find that it wasn't quite right for you after all, and then be willing to just move on to something else. All of this requires tenacity and commitment and courage, but this is what life asks you display. After all, this is your life. This is the adventure you are here to have. Why would you want to waste this precious life just sitting around and bemoaning your fate, thinking yourself a victim, regretting what you did or did not do in the past, when you might be out meeting new people, building new skills, learning new things? Yes, get out and do it. And so, in this case, what you need to visualize is being in the hub of activity. Just picture yourself in a room with other people. Perhaps it is a classroom of some sort or a workshop. You are learning something new. There is no need to be specific about what it is. You are in a classroom listening intently or working on a project intently. There are others alongside you are who are also learning and crafting a new life. You are working together, sharing knowledge, feeling the energy grow within you of this new life you are heading toward. The energy is flowing; you are feeling vibrant and alive and you are filled with courage. You are doing things which are difficult for you, but finding the courage deep inside to do it anyway. You are meting new people, you are learning and growing, and you are expanding your life. That is enough. Picture this. Feel this. Feel how it is to be with these people who are committed to growth and learning. Feel how it is OK not to be proficient, as long as you are learning. Every day, breathe down to a quiet place and picture and feel yourself in this growth situation. And then, look at your local newspaper and see if something catches your eye. Some new class that is starting, perhaps. Go out to the store and this time, look at what is posted on the bulletin boards for your community. Go to the community college and see what classes are starting. And then, just choose something. Choose something that appeals to you, even though you cannot imagine where it will lead. If your heart beats a little faster and you feel drawn toward something, but yet you are afraid, that is wonderful. Breathe deeply, pull together the courage, and just sign up for the class. And then just show up. And then just do it. And let life lead you on its way. One step after another. It is not necessary to see a goal. But it is necessary to live, to get out and do. This is your life and you are responsible for it. The universe will open doors, will bring you opportunities, but you must get out and seize them. You must get out of the house and expose yourself to what is going on around you. You must follow the impulses and feelings that come, following the desire but overcoming the fear. Do not talk yourself out of it. Do not say, " Oh, that will be a waste of time. " If you feel drawn toward it, follow. You never know. It could be that the universe just wants you to meet the person who will set up her easel next to yours in the art class and that this friendship will then lead to the catering business that both of you always wanted to start. Or perhaps it is just to open you up, so that you can feel the flow of creativity running through you, so that you can feel the flow of life and self-expression enough so that you will be able to act when the next thing appears. Take action now. Any action. Anything that just calls to you is better than doing nothing. When you do nothing, when you sit around and day dream or look at television, the angels get bored. They just lounge around too. Why should they bother when you are not even going to go out in the world and give it a try? But when you decide to act, when you decide to find something that will interest you and stimulate you and teach you, then they will sit up and take notice. They will toss down their magazines, turn off the TV and get up and get to work. Oh, they love it so! And if you can paint them a picture, just a picture of you having fun and being deeply interested in something, then they will see it in full screen technicolor and will set to work, scouring the community for opportunities which will fit your budget and your time available, and then they will present them to you. They will present them to you as little impulses, as things which sparkle just a little brighter, as little whispers in your ear. But notice this. Fear, in the meantime, may be yelling at you. " Don't do that! We've never done that before! " And so, you must learn to tell fear to go away. He is a bully and will back down. Just look him square in the eye and say: " I am now going to do what I fear. And you can't stop me. " And the more you fear it, the more important it is for you to do it. And notice too that Doubt will try to soften you up, so that you are unable to stand up and face down Fear. " We won't succeed! We're not good at that! " he'll cry. Just brush him aside. Of course you can succeed. Why? Because just getting out and doing what you fear is success. Just doing it is incredibly empowering. Do something which moves you and yet frightens you, something which calls to you but poses a challenge, and you have already succeeded, regardless of the outcome. Ah, how fortunate you are. You have half your life stretched out before you. You are done with the child rearing part and now get to embark on the opening of your own self-expression and exploration. What fun. Every moment in which you act is a great success indeed. Enjoy every moment of just opening up and learning to shine out with who you are. Throw open the windows and the doors and let the breeze of life blow through. What fun! *** Don't forget to order the Quado Self-Love and Abundance Meditations. Guest guest
Welcome to Affirmations Renato!! Yes, you are certainly on the right track! Believe me, it will take time to stop the present course you've been on, and then to get the more positive course working. Be patient! The more you do the affirmations, the better they work. The less you give any power to any negative in your life, the less that will continue to affect you in a negative way. Renato, I will send in a couple of older messages from this group that might help explain affirmations better, and how they have worked in my family's lives. Hope that will help answer more of your questions. Stay tuned for the message! Hugs, PJ mahusemo wrote: Hello everyone. My name is Renato and I am a new member.
